My life has been described by one of my editors as “impossibly exotic” – although really it is not my life, but me, that’s the exotic. I’m the uprooted plant, the exotic who doesn’t belong, always living in someone else’s backyard...

Very true, most animals are not that happy being shoved in kennels or something, although years ago, I had three German Shepherds who absolutely loved the place I used to leave them and would virtually jump for joy the minute they registered where they were going. It was almost difficult to get them to come back home. They would run into the kennel grounds without remembering to say goodbye or anything similar.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

What a great picture Glenda. Your own cat I presume?
I have just started one of the books you recommended, Rules of Ascension by David B. Coe - I have several more of your recommendations to read.
Oops, silly me, not your own cat.
I wish I had a cat, Jo. But I haven't had one since we left Vienna. We travel so much, and it just wouldn't be fair to the cat.
