Nashii

Recently my daughter Nashii (pictured near the top of Mount Kinabalu last year) was asked to compose and record some music for the sound track of a soon to be released Hollywood movie starring Dakota Fanning. Given the way things work in Hollywood, she won't be sure if they actually used it until the film is released...

Anyway, take a look and listen here for what she and Eric Holden have been working on with some friends as a continuation of the music done for the film. Expect an EP release in the Fall...

There are 2 tracks up on the link above, "Teenage Spaceship" and "Ocean". Just push the button on the music player.

Yes, I know I've said it before, but your daughter is very beautiful. So is that landscape behind her. :)

Different kind of sound from what I recall hearing Nashii play before (as you'd intimated to me already). I do like the Ocean track, both for the atmosphere and because the lyrics appeal to my sense of humour. I also like the photo there (6 of 9 on the Facebook entry) of the reflection in the sunglasses.

If I've got the right movie, then it's also starring actor Chris Evans. :)

Is that Nashii singing?

This is such a contrast from Bedtime for Toys

Either way, I'm really enjoying it. You have a wonderfully talented daughter =)

Yes, that's her singing. She does not do the vocals on Bedtime for Toys...these tracks are more her own style.
