They're sea cucumbers, aren't they? They look kinda sad... roasted maybe.
I thought they looked like those grubs the aboriginals eat. I realised they weren't though.
Yes, sea cucumbers (Holothuria). Which are animals, not vegies, of course. They are considered delicacies, although I wonder how many people dining in fancy restaurants realise they were dried on the pavement in the midst of the traffic and pedestrians of a town street?
